Hansgrohe AG, the leading maker of lavatory fittings and showerheads, was credited for its innovative designs at the Construction Week Awards 2011, held at The Westin in Dubai last month. The Etihad Towers project, for which Hansgrohe supplied its Focus S mixers, a variety of sink, bath tub and shower mixers renowned for its simple, stylish design and functionality, was awarded GCC Tower Project of the year.
In addition, Axor, the designer brand of Hansgrohe AG, will be presented with the prestigious 2012 German Design Award in Gold in Feb 2012. The prize will be awarded for the Axor Bouroullec collection mixers, designed for Axor by French designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec.

Having received its premier prize for design in 1974, Hansgrohe AG has lately gained one or two hundred awards and accolades. This year, the global bathroom fittings and showerheads manufacturer has been able to confirm its position and soar to number 11 among the 1,900 companies mentioned on the Global Forum Design corporate rankings.
Exceptional design and rising demand
For Hansgrohe, good design isn’t complete – instead , it simply fulfils its purpose. 2010 was a record year for Hansgrohe, and requirement for products from Schiltach continues growing, whilst turnover is steadily increasing both in Germany and abroad.
Hansgrohe has been awarded numerous awards, with the prize collection of the worldwide successful SME having grown to 373 prizes this year, confirming the outstanding design talents of the company and its creative partners.
The silver award of the “Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany” went to Hansgrohe AG for the second time in a row in 2011. From the approximate 1,500 products nominated for one of the 25 “Prizes of Prizes”, the jury decided on the wall mounted sink from the Axor Urquiola collection.
