Once almost a few months of protests and folks staying in the streets, rocks becoming thrown, blood vessels becoming spilled, and quite a few hurt, Egyptian Chief executive Mubarak eventually resigns. There was partying and cheers from the streets all night. The folks had spoken and the folks had won. The foundation of any democracy is a the federal government for the folks and by the folks.

With no thanks to director Roland Emmerich, many societies are now gripped with the possibility that one may have to deal with doomsday within his lifetime. If recent events are more than just series of freak coincidences, the fears are potentially justified. With catastrophic events such as earthquakes, tsunamis and nuclear disasters in Japan, in addition to the uprisings engulfing the Arab world driving up petrol prices, global politics plus nature’s instability is making people nervous.
